Following is mentioned the details about the project and the scope of the work.
Title of the Project -
“Harmonized Diagnostic Assessment of Dementia (DAD) for Longitudinal Aging Study of India (LASI) , Phase 2” under Principal Investigator, Dr. Rashmi Ranjan Mohanty, Additional Professor in the Department of Medicine. (Funded by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India , NIA / NIH and UNFPA)
The scope of the work related to the post for the above mentioned project is as per following -
Training of project staff
A training program will be held in a location connected by air for a period of two weeks. The recruited staff will proceed for the training program immediately after joining. All aspects of the training program will be organized by the central team in Delh i. During the training, every aspect of the survey will be explained in detail with practical demonstration. After this training, interviewer will conduct at least five interviews before actual study data collection begins.
Fixing appointments for interview
The project coordinator shall iew schedule appointments for the previous LASI DAD Respondents and new LASI Respondents using the mapping and listing information provided by central/USC project management team. Strategies for fixing appointments will be discussed in detail during the training program. The project coordinator shall organise the logistics for travel to the community. All clinical assessment and biomarker sampling shall be completed in one day. In case of any difficulties in finding Respondents, the central project managers should be contacted.
Data collection
The project personnel have to pay attention to the following issues for quality data collection. Equipment and supplies: The project coordinator should ensure that all the equipment, supplies and materials required for conducting interviews are in place. Contacting Respondents: The interviewers will give a reminder call to respondents the day before interview is scheduled. The interview er should ensure that all interviews are done as per study protocols. The central monitoring team & USC team will monitor the survey implementation throughout survey duration. Coordinating with Lab personnel: with The project coordinator shall communicate the selected laboratory (for biomarker study) for sample collection a day prior. All the details of lab personnel should be available with coordinator as well as interviewer. Conducting Interviews: The interviewers should supervise the blood collection an d ensure proper labeling and packaging of the samples. The coordinators shall generate the lab forms for blood transport. The interviewers shall conduct one respondent and informant interview per day. The project coordinator should supervise the logistic arrangements like vehicle arrangement, food arrangement and incentives for respondents and informants. Data uploading and security The interviewer should make sure that they have uploaded all the interview data and other images on the same day. All the survey materials, equipment and supplies should be kept in secured place in the designated lockers for survey during the survey period. The assessment sheets and consent form needs to be send to central project team at the end of survey.
